Nearly 2 1/2 Years Old:
- Calls me Mama Bear (as in, "Hey, Mama Bear?"), calls Sadie "Yadie Belle" and has just started occasionally calling Caden "Caden Bug"
- Jumps around and sings "guacamole" over and over when he's excited. Has also been known to punch the air a lot in excitement and/or scrunch up his face and strike a Usain Bolt pose.
- Likes to ask everyone, repeatedly, "You have penis?"
- Often remarks, "I love ___ (this movie, Olympics, raspberries, this floor, etc.)"
- Loved the summer Olympics and when asked if he wanted to watch, always answered with, "Yes... How 'bout diving"
- Loves watching Mighty Machines and often turns it on himself in the morning.
- Is very excited about starting preschool because, since attending the welcome ice cream social, assumes he'll get ice cream every day.
- Is very excited about starting a mommy and me gymnastics class. Often does somersaults (while yelling, "my somersault!") and head stands with one foot in the air while saying, "Look at my gymnastics, you like my gymnastics?"
- Often pre-cedes something he knows he shouldn't do by announcing it, "OK... jump off couch/punch Caden/etc."
- Starts to do slow motion Tia chi moves with his hands when he gets really, really tired
- Favorite phrases include "Oh man!" when excited, "Come on!" when frustrated, and "P. U., you stink, take a bath dude" when reciting his favorite book, The Pigeon Needs a Bath.
- Loves basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis and football.
- Recognizes all kinds of places around town, even if we've only been a few times, including tennis lessons and the vegetable garden (Root Connections)
- Loves his nanny, Margaret, and often includes her ("My Margaret") when naming members of his family
- Sleeps on his bed on the floor, sometimes with his gate open and sometimes closed. Has very elaborate goodnight routines with both siblings (Caden's happens on his top bunk and always ends with Caden patting him on his head and saying, "Don't forget to wish on your star"). Dropped his nap but often falls asleep during "me time" or in the car.
- Eats gallons and gallons of Greek honey yogurt and not much else besides bagels, some fruit and Annie's gummy snacks,
