Sleep Super Star

Big brother and baby sister - and they've got the shirts to prove it.

It's been a busy couple days around here gearing up for Grandma and Grandpa J and Laura coming over for Thanksgiving.  But the biggest news, by far, is that Sadie is a Sleep Training Rock Star!  It was not looking so great the first night when she was asleep and awake, asleep and awake about 15 times in the first 4 hours but since then she's been a total pro.  Hasn't cried for more then 10 minutes, sleeps from 7:15 pm - 10:15 am at night with 2 quick feedings, and takes naps averaging 2 hours.  Why, oh why, didn't I sleep train her 4 months ago???

We've also gotten a good dump of snow here, which has been fun.  Case worked from home yesterday and it's really starting to feel like the holidays.  The only negative is how crazy the roads get when it snows.  It took Casey 2 hours to get home from work Monday night.  A few hours later Laura called saying her car spun out and got hit on a hill so Case had to go rescue her.

All and all it's been an adventurous week!  Can't wait to snuggle up with the snow, good food, warm drinks and family tomorrow.

X-rays, Snowflakes, and a New Room

It's been a crazy week.  Case was out of town for work on Wednesday so he took Caden to Great Play on Thursday night to play.  The good news was Caden took a big jump off the mats for the first time...yay!  The bad news was he dislocated his elbow in the process...boo!

Unfortunately, we didn't really realize what was going on until the next morning (due to Caden also having an ear infection and generally crying half the time he has to leave Great Play because he loves it so much).  The next morning consisted of 3 hours at the pediatrician's office and the hospital getting x-rays (thank God aunt Laura was there to help with Sadie Belle) and ended with the doc popping the elbow back into place.  So we can officially check our first "boys will be boys" hospital visit off the list.

Here's a sweet pic of Caden volunteering to hold his baby sister when mom pulled out the camera.

And here's 30 seconds later when he got sick of that and rolled her off... Better be careful Caden bug - we were checking out the baby books and Sadie was 15 lb 13 oz. at her 4 month check up and you were only 14 lb. 4 oz. at 6 months!

It snowed today and Caden had fun going for a walk in it with Casey.  We didn't get any snow last year so this is the first time Caden's seen snow and been old enough to know what it is.

And finally, here is a very blurry picture taken to illustrate the craziness that was our house this Sunday evening.  Melanie brought the kids over and the 6 of us chowed down while Casey and John watched football at a pub in Bellevue.  It was chaotic (see the babies hanging out in the exersaucer and bumbo chair while the moms try to eat) and lots of fun...an hour after they left I put Sadie down for bed in her bedroom for the first time and sleep training began...
