Sadie's Baptism

Sadie's baptism was a wonderful day.  We had to wake both the kids up to hit the road by 8:15 but they were troopers.  Sadie slept the entire 45 minute drive to Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma and Caden was very quiet except for when he was pointing out the trucks.  Father Chuck, who married us in Yakima, performed the ceremony and Stacy Sands and Sam McDonald served as Sadie's God Parents and both brought her very sweet little gifts.  Both sets of grandparents and both the aunties were also in attendance and the grandparents also gave Sadie and Caden some nice presents.

During the ceremony Caden watched from afar at first and then joined us as a family by the alter.  He was very interested when the water was poured on Sadie's head and signed a cross on her head very sweetly when it was his turn.  Afterward we all went out for breakfast at a local coffee shop - where someone came up to us and asked if we were the Aethiest group meeting there, ha ha!  When getting into the car to head home, Caden spied Sarah's dog Penny.  He pointed and yelled, "oh, a mouse!".  Sadie fell asleep once again on the way home and Laura and the Morgans came over for a visit.

Later that night the Redmond Fire Department came by our house with the firetruck decorated in Christmas lights and Santa and his Elves on board.  We saw them through our front window and ran outside to catch a better glimpse.  By the time we got out the front door, the firetruck had stopped and Santa and his elf came running up with a candy cane for Caden.  Needless to say, he was very excited and it was a great way to end the day - we couldn't have asked for a better one for our Sadie girl.

Storm

This tree coming down sounded like a freight train going through our backyard at 1AM.  Thank God it fell the way it did and not onto our roof!  The neighbors were not so lucky - they were more than a little shaken up to have their tree come through the roof of their master bedroom while they were sleeping.  There are trees down all over the neighborhood.

The fire department came through last night and we just had power restored at 8:30AM.  Hopefully we can get the tree cleaned up before Christmas but we'll still have to deal with the patio being ripped out by the roots, the portion of the fence that was torn out, and our flattened outdoor furniture!  We are very thankful it is not more serious than that.
